We’ll be highlighting the Marine Corps Base this week in Sunny Southern California. Many of the Marine Corps bases are coastal locations, and you’ll never tire of the beaches and coastal views. Camp Pendleton is a large base and covers over 125,000 acres, straddles county lines and multiple school districts. Due to the unique landscape, even the weather greatly varies from location to location. With so many school and training opportunities, it’s a base you may find yourself staying awhile.

Base Housing

Housing can be a tricky part of living in Souther California. There are 25 housing communities aboard Camp Pendleton – some upwards of 20 miles apart. Even if you live on base, you can still have a solid 30 minute commute to work within base. The main shopping and the Naval Hospital are located right off the I-5 gate which is convenient for commuters. There are tons of things to do on base, from sailing lessons at the marina, unique races, horseback riding, along with youth sports, and volunteer opportunities.
