If you are an Army family, there’s a good chance you have or will be calling Fort Stewart your home. It’s a sprawling base near the coast of Georgia encompassing portions of Liberty, Bryan, Evans, Long, and Tattnall counties. It is home to the 3rd Infantry Division as well. Fort Stewart Housing Options

On Fort Stewart there are 10 available neighborhoods. Depending on where you or your spouse will be working, this may be the best choice for many due to their convenient location to schools and  available CDCs. However, if you are interested in buying a home, this can be an ideal location. Home prices are much more reasonable, and you are more likely to be able to find a larger home with outdoor space than if you were stationed elsewhere. Looking to buy a home? There are four CDC locations, a CYS Pre-K Program, along with hourly care options. Fort Stewart has three DoDEA elementary schools. middle school and high school students attend Liberty County Schools. There are several private school options from Hinesville to Savannah depending on what you are looking for and how far you’re willing to commute.

South Georgia’s mild weather and geography make it a great place for the adventurous crew. There’s camping, fishing, and hunting available at Fort Stewart. The Low Country Adventure Center and the Lotts Island Marina are just two of your gateways to enjoy the natural landscape surrounding Fort Stewart. 

Not a huge fan of the outdoors? No problem! Visit the Children’s Museum of Pooler for a fun day of interactive learning. Looking for a night out? Savannah has so much to offer and is only an hour away. Grab dinner or a show at The Historic Savannah Theatre. Don’t forget about the Haunted Ghost Tours! There are also several art museums to walk through and enjoy.
